This is easily our dog’s favorite store. Idk if it’s all dog owners, but we love to seek out new dog/pet stores whenever we are in a new area and this particular Polka Dog Is by the best in our opinion. First, it’s a local Boston company making dog treats. The wide variety of products they make are fantastic and have become the go to’s for high value treats. We appreciate they are very product transparent and use very few ingredients. Second, the staff is always extremely kind and friendly. Retail is a hard gig and I genuinely appreciate that the staff make coming here so easy. Third, they have large bulk buy jars so you can make your own treat mix and pay by weight. In addition you and your pup are able to sample any treat. How amazing and generous. Oh yeah and they have a free freak
Polkadog Bakery has an incredible selection of dog and cat treats, food, toys, leashes and harnesses and more. Order ahead curbside service is great and staff is very helpful.
I have been a customer of Polkadog for years. We exclusively buy all treats and dog food here. The quality of their products is fantastic. I especially like the treats they make themselves (at their kitchen on the Boston Fish Pier). I either visit their Chestnut Hill location or buy online. When I order online they shop quickly! Highly recommend Polkadog — the ONLY place I will shop for our beloved dog ❤️
I have been going to this store for the past 3 years and have spent quite a bit. My husband went to get our mini golden doodle some toys and purchased 7. One in particular was a stuffed lamb . My dog didn’t have this toy for more than 10 minutes and the stuffing was coming out of it. She just was playing with it and it just broke open. He went back to return it since it was $14.00 and the sales person was totally rude and said “that’s what the toy is supposed to do”. Really???? Not even an offer to get something else in exchange just a too bad that’s not our problem. Not a good attitude. Pet Smart has plenty of toys at the same price that do not come apart in 10 minutes. Unfortunately I will no longer spend my money there.
The giant bones ought to have a warning sign that they "REQUIRE CLOSE SUPERVISION"! The bone can splinter/chip into tiny pieces which can be serious choking hazards. Broken bits should be removed and thrown away. Don't let your dog chew these unsupervised!! A WARNING is absent and very necessary.
