Points East Veterinary Specialty Hospital

This past Sunday we had to bring our dog for an emergency visit because of being short of breath. Of course they brought him right in. The vet came out to explain Wilson's condition. He was in CHF and had an enlarged heart. Not getting results from lasix. The decision was made ( after the vet fully explained our boy's condition) ( and I am an RN,)to put him at rest. It was not an easy decision but he was in distress now despite meds and oxygen .They gave us private time so we could say our , goodbyes. We decided to stay in the room for the euthanasia. Holding him and telling him , it's all going to be ok. And like that our baby was gone. Thanks to all the staff for their compation. They treated Wilson with care. And us too. I also want to thank Benvenue Animal Hospital in Rocky Mount. Wils

The staff courteously greeted and helped us with our dog's ear infection. The pricing is very reasonable considering it was a walk-in. The staff is empathetic and friendly. I recommend Points East Veterinary for your pet emergencies. The establishment is very neat and clean. The snack bar is pretty cool too.

I usually don't post negative reviews like this. This was a very upsetting experience with Points East that makes me feel they are more of a business than a care center for our pets, our loved ones. Our puppy Shelby was just over 12 years old when she stopped eating. Full speed Border Collie all her life with hours of agility training and frisbee time throughout her life. We found out she had a blockage in her intestines and opted for surgery. We all know the risks of surgery on a 12 year old dog. I bare no responsibility on the doctor that performed the procedure. Other complications where found during surgery where we had to say our goodbyes to our Shelby. My concern comes from that night when we were told the situation and had to make that agonizing decision to let her go. Whe

I’ve had to say good bye to many beloved pets over the years and tonight it was time for Milo to cross over the rainbow bridge. He went peacefully and I want to say thank you to the staff at Points East for being so caring and compassionate. Peanut and I will miss him so much!

My 10 year old chocolate lab had been having ongoing issues for over a month, my vet finally referred me to Points East where he was able to get the care he needed. The receptionist, techs and vets were all phenomenal. I was able to visit everyday he was there and called multiple times to check in and they were always happy to give me an update. Dr. Wagner, Dr. Nystrom and Dr. Shields were the three I worked with most and they always took the time to talk with me and answer all the questions I had. My boy is progressing and I could not be happier with the assistance they gave to get him stable again and back home.
