Poconos Barking Lot

I am not sure what happened when boarding my dog this time around. I’ve boarded them in the past and had no issues. I just got home from vacation and had to bring my dog to emergency vet because my dog was emaciated loosing more than 15 pounds. My dog had feces and deep pressure sores to lower extremities. My dog was boarding a little over two weeks. I called a few times and he was doing okay according to the reports. I am uploading pictures of his normal weight and a picture of how I picked him up. I spoke with the boarding guy Corey who had no real explination of what could have happened but clearly something isn’t adding up.

DO NOT leave your dog here for any reason. My sister left her puppy at this daycare and he was returned in a very concerning condition. His eyes were bloodshot red, he was extremely lethargic, and he began throwing up shortly after pickup. This is completely out of character for him—he is normally a very energetic puppy. We were given no explanation, no incident report, and no notice of any medication or substances being administered. Based on his condition, it appeared as though he may have been sedated or drugged without our knowledge or consent. This experience completely destroyed our trust. This facility is not trustworthy, and the lack of transparency and concern for animal safety is unacceptable. Please be extremely cautious and protect your pets.

Been a customer for years. Seems like a new management team took over recently. I have only used them for boarding and my dogs are always well taken care of. There were some communications issues with some my initial visits with the new management team, just with drop off and pick up times but more recently I have started getting texts and confirmations prior so they have definitely improved. My dog is always happy to go and they are very fair with pricing so I am a happy customer.

DO NOT GO HERE! Right before the holidays, we picked up our dogs, and the younger one, who is usually rambunctious, was clearly polar opposite. He was drowsy, seemed lethargic and confused, and on TOP of all of this, vomiting constantly once we got home! All through the night, our poor baby was extremely sick and restless. After several pee pee pads barfed on, a handful of baths to wash off our distressed pup [because he was sooo ill and weak that he threw up on himself :’( ], and more than 48 hours later, we finally saw some of his normal energy restored. It’s obvious that he was trying to throw up something or THINGS that the Poconos Barking Lot drugged him with. They did NOT call and ask us to give whatever they poisoned our dog with! Been using them for over 30 years. Boarded my dog with them many times. Always a good experience. My dog loves going there. Grooming and nails always done great! She comes home smelling clean and her coat is shiny and her nails cut perfectly!
