Dr. Schaefer is the most caring vet I have had the privilege of knowing. I still go to him even though I now live close to an hour away, one way. I don't ever want to go anyplace else. He's just the best & he gets you in fast if necessary.

The best Veterinary services Ever! I have dealt with many Vets all over N. California, and I was pleasantly surprised after moving to this area, that the only small animal Veterinarian around here was Excellent!! From the receptionist, to the assistants, and of course, the doctor(s)...they all are very helpful, and knowledgeable, and have a great report with the animals. They seem to genuinely care about ur pet. Which I have found is kinda rare these days. The doctor always takes the time to answer any questions I may have, and breaks it down into layman terms so u understand what he's talking about. And if ur pet needs more than they can provide, he will promptly admit it and tell u ur options. They are a real pleasure to deal with...we should be so lucky! Thank You guys!! Melanie Ibarra

Dr. Schaffer and his team are so caring and compassionate. They feel like part of our family. I've been taking my pups to him for over a decade. He and his staff are always warm, welcoming, and professional. My Aussie Posse loves them! We've had everything from annual checkups to lab work, x-rays, spays, teeth cleaning and removal, surgery, and more. My pups are always handled with love and care. As far as I'm concerned, there is no one better, and I am very grateful for Plumas Veterinary Services & Dr. Schaffer.

I have been waiting to write this post because the people at this business upset me and my son so much. I brought in an owl that got hit at night because it flew into the windshield and I didn't know where to take it. People suggested that I take him to a local vet so I brought him to this vet. They said that his leg was so shattered that he wouldn't be able to use it again and that they were going to have to put him down all because of his leg. There were many other options of people I could have taken him to just not in the correct area but they were not going to let me have him back. I even said that I would take care of him. I had promised him all night long that if he made it through the night I would find somebody to help him. I regret bringing him to these people who are supposed to
