We had such a wonderful experience with the Plano Animal Shelter. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely happy to help. The entire adoption process was easy and stress-free. Two years later, our pup has been the absolute best dog we could have ever asked for. We are so grateful to the Plano Animal Shelter and the amazing work they do to help families find their perfect fur baby. Thank you for bringing so much love into our lives.

Tried to adopt a pet...went in and nobody was nice what so ever. Looked at the cats and spoke about my own animals...and said I was looking to look at all the cats and asked to see some of them. I asked some questions and she acted annoyed that i was even talking to her. Then I ended up wanting to see them all due to wanting a another cat for my own cat. And she said very rudely we dont rush picking cats and rolled her eyes. I was confused and went to look at more animals. I ended up wanting to see a bunny they had in the front. And spoke to her again and she said again rudely wow so we went from wanting a cat to a bunny? You know they take a long of work. (I have lots of experience with all animals) I said I understood and still would like the bunny. They had to contact my apartment to co

I rarely leave negative reviews, but after now half a dozen separate negative interactions with the Plano Animal Shelter, I feel compelled to share my experience. Each time I have reached out or worked with the shelter directly, the conversations quickly turned to euthanasia, often with little discussion about alternatives or collaboration. In some cases, we were told there was essentially no opportunity for a positive outcome for the animal, which was both alarming and deeply discouraging to hear from an organization entrusted with their care. Beyond that, the shelter has come across as poorly managed, with customer service that feels dismissive and at times outright rude. It was the perfect place to go to adopt a pet needing a forever home. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, the adoption process was quick and easy, and the facilities were nice and clean! There was plenty of reading material available for first-time adopters and even free items for new adoptions! My partner and I adopted a sweet black cat named Lola and she has wasted no time becoming a part of our family. When it comes time to add a new fuzzy member to our growing family, we'll definitely go back!

This is a good shelter. They keep it clean and take good care of the pets. I have adopted 4 dogs from this shelter and they are really good dogs. My first dog from this shelter was a VIP, so I got it for 40 dollars, and he is 18 year old now. They are really good to assess the dog personality. If you need a dog companion, this is the place. The staff is friendly too
