Plainfield Area Humane Society

I adopted my dog (Maltese) over a year ago and I had a good experience. I heard about this shelter through PetFinder and all the details were accurate. My dog was neutered and up to date on all shots. The staff was kind and patience while I was waiting to get approval from my landlord in those few hours. My dog was also jumpy and friendly with the staff - it was a good sign he was happy and cared for while waiting to be adopted. The staff provided me a bed, cage, pee pads, food, and extra items to start. I'd like to thank Pattie and the Plainfield Society staff for caring for all the animals and also giving me an opportunity to adopt my dog.

PAHS are a very compassionate organization. I recently lost my two puppies Mario and Kelly (both from rescue shelters), so in their memory I donated their remaining food, treats, bedding and made a cash donation. I miss my pups a lot, they were a great part of the family!

Lovely place to adopt your newest family member. They demonstrate a lot of care and empathy for their animals. They also provide assistance w what you may need for your new best friend. I loved how passionate they were about the safety and care of all animals. The price was also less compared to other places and still comes with vaccines neutering and a microchip. I was able to take my kitten home the same day! They also provide volunteering opportunities for those who wish to make a positive impact in the well being an treatment of animals ♥️ lovely place w great people.

We went to look for a kitten...my children's first pet...wasn't expecting to fall in love but boy oh BOY! Mist came into our lives and we can't be more thankful to The Plainfield Humane Society for such a special addition to our family. The people there REALLY love their work...aside from the smell (to be expected at an animal shelter) it was a pleasure being there to see the animals...would recommend.

Adopted my beautiful boy with such ease. Came in and left with a lifetime friend all in one day. The doggy didn’t even want to leave the shelter as they took such wonderful care of him !!! Thank you so much
