The owner, Eric Caplan, is refusing to honor his own adoption contract terms. I have to surrender my dogs that I adopted from ASAP Rescue but he is stating that they can’t take dogs over 40 pounds. (I am required, by contract, to surrender the dogs back to them. And other shelters won’t take them because I got them from a different shelter.) Why would you, a rescue shelter, put dogs up for adoption that you can’t take back? This was never stated to me and it’s not in the contract. This is highly unethical of a business, let alone a rescue shelter. This has been devastating for my entire family and ASAP Rescue is making matters so much more difficult for us.

Overpriced, neglected reptiles, saw a dead anole, leopard gecko tanks not clean, hurt white line gecko, hurt leopard gecko, gecko gasping on dirty water, and poor customer service. Don't support this business. You're better off purchasing from the other pet store or online.

This is by far the best best best pet supply place in Pittsburgh. Everyone is knowledgeable and pleasant. They are a no kill refuge for dogs, cats and rabbits. The fish and fish supplies manager is unequaled in Pittsburgh - he wants your fish to thrive. They only stock top quality pet foods - no sugar or fillers. (Yes, it costs more than the addictive pet crack at the supermarket.) It's out of the way but so worth it.

Beta fish are kept in tiny containers without proper aeration. We spotted two dead betas and several near dead ones when we were there. I'll be taking my business to a pet store that cares about the health of animals, as opposed to a purely-profit focused store like this one.
