Petco

Visited 3 weeks ago: The extremely strong air freshener being pumped through the vents gave me a headache after 2 mins so I can’t imagine how bad it is for the animals being sold here. Also, the parakeets had no food and very dirty water. The chameleon was also out of water. When I told front staff, they seemed a bit perturbed, probably because they had to get off their phone. The birds in general housed here are not in appropriate enclosures for even a day much less how long they actually sit miserably before purchased. Decided not to make my purchases as I was not happy with the above.

CHECK OUT THE PHOTOS!!!!! Went in to this Petco at 1380 Village Square on 7/12/2025. Needed Flea meds for my cat but browsed the fish section because I own 3 freshwater aquariums and 1 saltwater aquarium. This is what I found!!! I get that new batches of fish can have dead on arrival (DOA). Or a few sick ones. Every tank had dead floating. As you can see the filters are clogged with dead ones of majority of there species. I saw plenty floating sideways halfalive and others at the bottom being eaten by tank mates. So I'm disgusted at this and realize nobody there working cared. I asked the cashier if I came back in like 15mins if someone would be available to get a fish for me? She replied " Sure!, someone will be here". I had a shred of hope they would say no because of some disease or so

Faith in Humanity Restored. Went there tonight 1/29 for some cat food and as always, I had to say hello the adoption kitties. I noticed one of the kittens (Black and White female) throw up into her water bowl. I notified the cashier who told me she'd notify the manager. And I waited to see, they did and I promptly asked said manager when they could help the kitten (It was pretty busy at the time). And she notified me she would have to call 3rd party people who handle that, would have to come unlock the door and change water. Anyone who didn't care could have just told me that and lied assuming I wouldn't check up. But I did check up, and they were 100% honest, they did call they service team and they were changing the water as I walked back in. Despite horrors stories on the internet about
