Petco

I had an excellent experience at Petco on 12/31/25, thanks to Dustin. I came in looking for a small aquarium or enclosure for my snake, something lightweight and easy to transport so I can drop him off with a pet sitter while I’m on vacation. Dustin was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable from the start. He took the time to explain the different sales that were going on as well as the membership options Petco offers. Because of his thorough explanation, I ended up purchasing a larger tank in addition to the tank that I originally planned, something I wouldn’t have done without his help. Lexi is amazing! 5 stars just for her. I recently made a reptile purchase and she was all in on helping me find the best setup. She is very knowledgeable and straight forward with reptiles needs. She has always gone out of her way to provide every detail before the purchase is completed. She is the reason I got into reptiles in the first place and I’ve never had a problem with making my reptiles feel the most comfortable when transitioning from the store to home.

Petco is awesome! I was born and raised in Grand Junction, and this was the first time I ever stepped inside if the place. My mother, sister, and I took my son, niece, and nephew to see someone the animals. Its small but adequate, has a good vibe, and was an overall pleasant experience. The kids especially loved it. They had a lot of quality clearance items and seemed to accommodate most pet needs.

I took my dog here to get her nails clipped after another Petco did not clip her nails during her routine grooming. They dig a good job, but then when I made an appointment for her next haircut, they did not clip her nails again! They also forgot to cut the hair on her face and I wish I had noticed while we were still there because I won’t be going back again! We used Petco for years without issue at another location, but now we will be going to a private groomer. I wanted to stay because of their free grooming after 7 paid, but this last time was supposed to be my free one. I told them this, and they said it wasn’t until next time. When I got home, it said my free groom had been used that day, even though I paid $80! Super lame.

I love this store. It has everything I need for my cat and my aquarium. It's a very large store. It's very spacious and airy inside. They have a variety of aquariums. The fish selection could be a little more diverse.
