They have most of what you'll need for a variety of pets. Even several unusual or exotic pets. Prices are high, but they occasionally run sales which is always nice. While the staff is usually friendly and some know a lot, they aren't necessarily fully knowledgeable about all of the animals. Oftentimes you as the pet owner will know more about the proper care of your animals. Particularly if you have an exotic pet. Animals in the store are usually in okay conditions, although sometimes things slide by unnoticed due to unknowledgeable/inexperienced staff. (Snake mites, etc.) But you really only have this or Petsmart, and usually I would prefer to go here. So take that for what its worth.

Employees are exceedingly helpful and knowledgeable. Only problem I have is I always have fish that pass away. Store being 40 miles away from me one way, it's very hard for me to just go back and exchange it. Employees though are THE BEST, Katie, Tonie and I'm sure the rest are too but it's Katie that I deal with each time I go. She extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

Everyone is always so polite and helpful, that's why I always shop at petco for dog food, toys, jerseys, and winter gear! Appreciate all the employees at Alexandria,LA store very courteous and helpful.

Quality on salt and fresh water are very sad. Tanks are always dirty. Maybe if petco the company required the right jobs for the workers are pay them more so they’d probably be happy to do the job.
