Perth Amboy Animal Shelter

Was provided the necessary medication and supplies for adopting my new kitten Orbit!

Last year I found a little sick kitten on my porch. I called the shelter and of course no one called back until the next day. I brought the kitten in kept it in a kennel for the night. Still getting no response from the shelter I took the sweet little angel who was so sick to the vet and of course it had to be euthanized. The shelter called me back in the afternoon I don't remember the name of the female and I told her the situation her response to me was well whether we came to get the cat or it was left there it would have died anyway. What the hell type of people do you have working at that shelter! I've been to the shelter in the past and honestly they have been of no help and have no compassion for animals!

Showed up unannounced to look at a dog, the guy there said he wasn’t an officer and could not let the dog out but I could look at him from the outside. I went outside and there was 6 piles of poop in the outside pen, you can’t tell me that’s from one day!! I don’t think the dog poops 6 times in one day! The place is full to capacity yet no one ever answers the phone, return calls or answer the door if your really not “open” change the times on your website!!!!

I rescued a cat from them years ago never ever again. The thing about Perth Amboy shelter is they are kind of Shady. I adopted a cat from them paid over $100 to adopt a cat for it to die two months later. Not knowing apparently it had a bunch of health problems and she was going to die. They didn’t disclose this to me when I adopted the cat for my little sisters birthday so that was traumatic thank you for that Perth Amboy animal shelter. I called and told the woman working that i found 2 stray 8 week old kittens. she had no idea what she was talking about so she passed me to some man who was rude and dismissive. “why would you bring them in they are street cats?” … maybe because stray cats dont live longer than 5 years??? maybe because the point of a animal shelter is to welcome in animals and give them a second chance so that they dont die on the streets? if there were no stray animals there would really be no need for shelters so the fact he even asked me that was just to be condescending. idk why even work at a shelter if thats the first thing you ask someone trying to bring in strays
