PAWS Shelter of Central Texas

I have been to this shelter many times to volunteer and this is the absolute best shelter I have ever seen! The facilities for the pets are incredible, the staff are extremely knowledgeable and super friendly, and the animals in their care are amazingly taken care of! I highly recommend stopping by to meet the wonderful crew running the facility and all the adorable fur babies they look after.

Initially, I was so worried about bringing home a new dog, as I have cats and a kid, but the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The kennel techs really take the time to get to know the animals in their care. They were very patient and helped me identify the perfect pup for my family. We're so happy with our Reina ♡♡♡

Great shelter/rescue doing the Lord’s work. I’ve had an excellent experience fostering kittens. The staff is responsive and readily takes care of any medical needs, no matter how busy they are. PAWS does a great service for this community. I trapped a feral kitten in my work parking lot and they took him into their adoption program. It’s not every rescue that will agree to take in a stubborn, still not-quite-socialized older kitten and give an amazing effort to find him a home.

Recently adopted a kitten from PAWS and I am obsessed with her, but I noticed the day I brought her home she has a bump on her belly I looked closer and I believe it may be a hernia. I called PAWS to ask them about this because it was not in her health history and was basically told because you signed the paperwork she is no longer our responsibility which yes I agree with but also this is obviously something that she had in the shelter, I’m disappointed that they were so dismissive with me.
