Started fostering for them a couple years ago. We were so impressed with how well they care for the dogs. We were given everything they needed, checked up on and even addressed medical needs proactively. It’s been such a joy to help this rescue.

You just lost out on a great home for one of your dogs because of your silly policy of your puppies needing to go to a home with another dog. There is absolutely no reason why a dog cannot be a single in a household-especially with other animals present. This should have been disclosed when I texted you three days before the event, before we drove 45 minutes out there, got there 30 minutes early, and talked to you at the event about the dog we were interested in.

My daughter and I contacted the rescue, communicated with the rescue repeatedly including sending pics of our current senior dog. We wanted a meet and greet. She said show up at the event. We showed up as promised 30 minutes before the dog adoption event to ensure we were first in line. We filled out the paperwork. She made my daughter and I wait until well after the event started and then proceeded to deliberate who would be the best owners for Rover. Since we were all “so great” , she decided to do a lottery. We lost. I have never heard of this. We arrived thirty minutes early because most shelters it’s first come first serve. This was absolutely painful, drawn out and totally unnecessary! The person who won? This will be their third or fourth dog! Thanks for breaking our hearts.

My mom and I had communicated with the rescue a lot ahead of time, even showing pictures of our dog, because we wanted to adopt Rover. We showed up to an event at Petco at 10:30 am because they told us that is when they arrived and we wanted to get there as early as possible so we could get Rover. Our dog is a senior and we wanted to get another dog before she dies, and she only likes other retrievers and doesn’t like puppies— so Rover was both rare and absolutely perfect. We spoke with the woman at the rescue for quite a while before anyone else showed up and filled out the paperwork as soon as we got there. A couple with several dogs already arrived much later than us and were told that Rover wasn’t taken and there was a very long, painful, drawn out process of all of us waiting to see w
