Paws Cat Shelter

Applied to adopt 2 bonded cats. I called my veterinarian to give permission for them to talk to shelter. I called my landlord and got permission to have the cats and told her that the shelter would be calling her. After waiting 2 weeks from when I submitted my application, I emailed them to check on the status. They said that I would only be hearing from them if I was approved. I waited another week and didn't hear from them. I didn't understand why because I take excellent care of my dog which is in the vet records and my landlord allows cats. I called my veterinarian and landlord and asked if the shelter contacted them. They said, no. Before I put in my application I visited their shelter in Putnam. They had 3 rooms filled with very small cages and in each cage were 2-3 cats. I was

Great place to visit and spend time with the cats. 100% volunteer run, non-profit, no-kill shelter. These people are amazing and wonderful. They are so friendly and kind, and the cats are too!

Amazing people, I had volunteered ~ 600 hrs during high school, and it made such an impact on me. The volunteers as well as the owner are some of the greatest people I’ve ever met. The work they do for these cats is incredible. I would highly recommend this shelter to anyone, as it gave me so much joy, and I rescued the most perfect cat thanks to Paws.

Had a kitty since a small kid. Have always treated them like a part of the family Paws denied my application for no reason.

These people are amazing, their cars and kittens are all adorable and well loved by their Foster family which make up a majority of the volunteers. You can tell that they are there for the some propose of getting home for all of the cats. We got Baxter there today and we couldn't be happier!
