Our Companions Animal Sanctuary

If you have ever wondered what the best arrangement could be for taking care of animals in need…look no further than Our Companions Sanctuary in Ashford, CT. We had arranged for a tour to see the various animals and their care. It was absolutely wonderful to witness the loving care from the Staff and the conditions under which the animals live while waiting for their perfect next home. It is located in a rural setting in beautiful eastern Connecticut. Well worth a ride to see! We have become donors and are discussing joining the ranks of their volunteers. We are so glad to have made the trip out to visit Our Companions Sanctuary!

This truly is a sanctuary. Not just for special needs pets but such a soothing feeling place for volunteers as well.

What a great tour. Well thought out sanctuary for animals. It was beautiful and the animals we adorable.

We took their Saturday 1 hour tour of the buildings on June 7. This rescue sanctuary goes above and beyond the resources of local rescues by rehabing mostly special needs cats, dogs, and other small animals. Another person on the tour commented at the end. Can I retire here? Each cat and dog has it's own room. The goal of the staff and hundreds of volunteers is to help them heal, physically and emotionally and ultimately be ready to be adopted.

I just started my time volunteering at Our Companions Animal Rescue in Ashford. It is truly an amazing place! Beautiful property, perfectly setup to take care of these animals in need. The staff are absolutely amazing!! They care so much about the animals in their care.
