Oregon Dog Rescue

We love our dog Philip! He’s doing great with us, my 2 cats are so well adjusted to him. So is our small girl dog. He still play bites, but he has learned so much. He has great mannerisms other than when he is crazy hyper. Loves to play with his toys, & go on walks. He loves his bones too! He has a vacuumed hair cutter/brush that is quiet enough I can trim/brush his hair. He is the happiest loving dog. Couple months with this dog, & all he brings is JOY. Although we have to hide the trash in closet!

We had an excellent, organized experience adopting from this rescue. Our puppy arrived at the shelter from Texas the day before we brought her home. She was clean, healthy and affectionate when we met her, despite the huge transition. We knew right away it was a good fit. We got a follow up email a week or so after the adoption from a trainer checking in on us. They do amazing work.

My family toured two other facilities, all of which had higher prices and browsing kennel after kennel was overwhelming. Making an appointment online was super easy, we did wait about 10 minutes but that was no biggie. One of the dogs that we listed had been adopted but they were quick to let us meet another option in our case it was a litter mate. Our first time adopting from a shelter and I will continue to recommend them to everyone. Our pup is settling in great and are so thankful we found him.

Edit: Since the shelter took the time to reply I must say: if “dozens of people want the same dog”, then I’m sure any one of those dozens would also understand waiting 3 hours. I think this shelter should consider investing in training its human staff to better help the public. I found my soul dog here! This is not a walk-through shelter, and I think this does wonders for the dogs’ mental health. My little guy was transported all the way up from Texas to have a chance at this no-kill shelter, and he had been at the Oregon facility for a couple of days. These photos were taken on the first day we spent together. Such a calm, well-cared for, loving little boy ready for his new adventure. He was very comfortable being in the car, and after such a long trip up from down south, this is just a testament to how caring the Oregon Dog Rescue’s staff are and how well they tend to these little babies while they’re searching for a new home.
