Old Oak Retrievers

Excellent! Our puppy was difficult and almost ruining our life LOL… I never could’ve dreamed how amazing she could be until she returned from Rick and his staff’s excellent training. Our black lab is now the most obedient, delightful well mannered dog around and we love every moment with her. Walking her now is the highlights of our day. She is also doing great getting birds hunting. Thanks to Rick and his team!! Highly recommend!!

(2018) We own two dogs from Old Oak Retrievers and our next pup will be from there, as well. Rick McConico is an accomplished trainer who operates a beautiful, clean facility and does a superb job with the dogs he trains. Highly recommended! (2022) UPDATING my original review to say that we own a third pup from Old Oak Retrievers who is now three years old (a half sister to our black lab Sophie). She's just as amazing as her big sis! Rick is very selective about his breeding program - great dogs! Each one of our dogs is the quintessential "gentleman's gun dog" - everything you want in a retriever, wonderful, biddable disposition and a joy to have in the home as a beloved family member.

We got Doc our started lab from Old Oak and have taken him back for boarding. Due to attention to blood lines & training, they produce great companions & hunting dogs

I have had 6 labs in my life. The last 3 have been from Rick and old oaks kennels between the quality of people and dogs aswell as the prestige of the facilities this is by far the best experience for finding the right dog for you. They will find you a dog that fits your family and life style to a T with a long list of pedigree to back it up. There training is second to none. We got our dog back at 10 months old fully obedience trained and ready for the field. We sent one of our dogs back to get more waterfowl training. I have yet to have one person in the boat that doesn’t say he is the best duck dog they have had the privilege of hunting with. I have got my last two Golden Retrievers from Old Oak Kennels. I have had Old Oak train both dogs for hunting as well as used them for dog boarding. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Both dogs are great in the field as well as the home. Old Oaks facilities are spotless and second to none! They truly care about their dogs and only breed the best…..you will not be disappointed!
