Oakland Park Animal Hospital

Today l made my 1st visit to OPAH. Parking is a bit tight, so leave the Humvee at home! The decor is basic and functional, but the service is professional and friendly. The young woman at the desk was expecting me from the friend who referred me, and gave me very little to fill out. I was quickly taken to a room with the ill cat, who seems to have been abandoned in my neighborhood, and we were made comfortable by Mattie. Dr Ratnoff appeared just a few minutes later and could not have been more pleasant, businesslike and reassuring. He has a good sense of humor, which helps when you are worried and a bit confused. I was very pleased today with how much the staff and vet cared about my one of my pet rats during our first visit. Over the past year and a half, we have had to do several vet visits for one of our rats back in Tampa. There were obvious times when the staff at our previous vet was very uncomfortable/disturbed by my animal being a rat. Today, the vet assistant was excited to be in close proximity to our rat and was very interested in learning they are littered trained and many more facts. She was also very sweet and kind with my two small children. Our vet was very compassionate and gentle with our sweet rat, while respecting my wishes in regards to treatment moving forward. I highly recommend! I will be switching our kittens' vet to this location from Chewy vets.

Well I had an emergency with my pet Cockatiel and Dr. Spencer was amazing! He was short staff and was still answering the phones, giving diagnoses, and treatment. I was give a care plan with instructions on my pet bird along with vital information regarding Cockatiels. I found a new home for my feather/fur babies! I recommend the doctor and the staff for walk-ins, checkups, and ER visits.

My husband and I showed up at closing time with our sick 7 month Doberman. Without hesitation, Dr Ratnoff and Maddie agreed to stay late to take a look at her. They are both knowledgeable, compassionate and friendly. Dr. Ratoff diagnosed our puppy, provided medication and care instructions. Our dobie was better by the next day. It will be my “go to” from now on.

My first time coming here was exactly what I expected, the doc. Was awesome and explained everything. Im back again and it just gets better this doctor is the best. His knowledge is extraordinary his passion is amazing and his love for animals is God giving. I would not go to anyone else, and believe me I have been through many vets. Great job to the doctor and his team.
