Oak Park Natural Pet & Fish

i got white elephanted with the sweetest little guy, and i wanted to make sure i had everything i needed. i was helped by a guy who made me feel a lot more comfortable with starting a planted tank. happy to say Ceviche is very happy in his new home :]

Wow! Have you ever watched an episode of hoarders? That's what this place is like. Mismatched dirty tanks, over stuffed shelves, trip hazards all over the floor (hoses, product, fans, etc.). One of the tanks had so many fish in it, I think if you put the net in you would catch 7 fish without moving the net. I've seen good reviews but after stopping here, I have no confidence the fish would live or could infect my tank. Shockingly bad.

Diamond in the rough in terms of customer service and rare finds. Store may be a bit crowded in the aisles but its has everything under the sun. And if not they always seem happy to order anything your pet may need. Absolute staple for the Oak Park and River Forest residents who own a dog or have a pet fish.

Didn’t see a big selection of fresh water fish. Cichlid, koi or much verity of gold fish. The choices of fish food were limited to generic brands. One type of the Hikari brand. No pellets for Bug Bites they had granules only. Huge selections of 4 legged pet food though.

Came here looking for crushed coral for my freshwater tank – as my tank water was experiencing an issue. The associate Alex, was incredibly informative and knowledgeable. He guided me in the right direction for my situation.
