There are no adequate words to express how grateful I am to Dr. Burroughs and Houston during one of the hardest moments our family has experienced. Our cat took a turn for the worse much sooner than we ever could have anticipated, and from the very first call, Houston was incredibly supportive, responsive, and compassionate. In a moment filled with panic and heartbreak, his calm presence meant everything. Dr. Burroughs was truly exceptional. She spoke gently and clearly, walking our family through every step with care and respect. Nothing was rushed, and nothing was overlooked, from our time spent saying our goodbyes, the clay pawprint, and collecting his fur, to allowing me time to bathe him afterward, and even offering to help. Every detail was handled with such tenderness. She wrapped h

Dr. Shann Burroughs showed extraordinary compassion during one of the hardest moments our family has ever experienced. On very short notice, she came to our home to help our 12-year-old Labradoodle, Lucy, peacefully cross the Rainbow Bridge after suffering from an adrenal gland tumor that had ruptured into the vena cava. She was kind, patient, and incredibly sensitive as we made this heartbreaking decision. Her calm presence and genuine empathy brought us comfort during an overwhelming time, and she treated Lucy with dignity and love throughout the process. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Burroughs for helping Lucy pass peacefully and for the care she showed our family. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

On June 11, 2025, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to our beloved six-year-old Boston Terrier, Zoe. Zoe was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor at the end of May and was having multiple seizures daily. Dr. Shann Burroughs came to our home to help us through this moment, and I can say without hesitation that she is truly doing the work she was meant to do. From the moment she walked in, she put me and my husband at ease. When I addressed her formally, she gently said, “Please call me Shann,” and that small gesture immediately set the tone for the compassion and grounded presence she brought into our home. She explained every step of the process with clarity and calm, making sure that Zoe felt no discomfort from any of the injections. She reassured us about the dec

Dr Burroughs and Houston were a godsend when my beloved cat Midas started declining more quickly than anticipated. I made an appointment for the next day but Houston gently suggested cats can be sicker than they appear and indeed my boy was beginning to have some breathing issues. Houston scrambled heroically to get Dr Burroughs to our home in less than an hour arriving promptly at 7:30 PM as promised. I feel like I've known Dr Burroughs all my life somehow. She was wonderful to talk to during a very painful hour of my life, making it a little easier. Probably the best service I have ever used for anything. Though it may be the hardest day of your life, your furry little souls deserve to cross over peacefully, at home, in comfort, with this team of angels on Earth. Peace.

Dr. Burroughs is a compassionate, reassuring, and deeply kind person. She's also an EXCELLENT vet. We had to say goodbye to our 17 year old puppy dog Beau yesterday. Shann and her support staff made the whole process (communicating with us, scheduling etc) as easy as possible. Beau was never in any pain, not stressed, and got to be in his home with his family at the end. Truly grateful to have had her help us on this difficult and painful day. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️ Lisa & Chris Wallace, Raleigh NC.
