North Kansas City Animal Control

Found a kitten in north Kansas City in the engine compartment of a pickup truck near a dog park while on a road trip from Denver to NY. Liberty was kind enough to take in this found friend even though I had brought them to the wrong shelter. This kitten is super sweet and the liberty facilities are very nice. They are filled up with adoptable cats, kittens and dogs. Please consider adopting from them.

The super friendly staff helped us to adopt two cats; Jacob and his mom Dolly. We had traveled from California to adopt Jacob and then when we saw how bonded Jacob was with his mom, we knew we needed to adopt her as well. The staff had cared wonderfully for our cats. They helped us to get a calming medication to give them before they traveled.

I couldn't disagree more with the one-star review. The employees I worked with to adopt my cat were excellent at communications-we talked several times on the phone and in person. During the interview process they were thorough and clearly wanted what's best for the cat. The facility was clean, quiet, and well maintained. Thank you NKC animal control for what you do-now I get to spoil an amazing, beautiful kitty!

I recently adopted a puppy from North Kansas City Animal Shelter and he is amazing! The perfect addition to my life. The staff does so much with what they have available to them. Having a whole litter of puppies living in a shelter for weeks is not easy at all but the babies were so well taken care of and the adoption process was easy and staff was very communicative.

This facility is not a major shelter with a marketing or advertising budget. They are working with very limited resources and the staff I encountered genuinely cared for the animals. I adopted the sweetest young cat and plan on going back to get an older cat this week.
