edit. I've been here multiple times now; The volunteers are always welcoming, animals happy and clean, new things at the shop. Check into the shop often. • For years, I've wanted to visit NEER, I finally got the opportunity to drive down there and it was great! I met very kind and wonderful people, (and equine alike,) who were very knowledgeable. I got the exact saddle I wanted for a fantastic price! I didn't even see the information on the side or bottom until they pointed it out. Thanks again! Excited for my next visit!

This is a terrific place overall with healthy-looking horses, a good trainer, and mostly excellent volunteers. There is one volunteer (late 50s/early 60s, a bit taller, bleached blonde hair) who is consistently unpleasant every time I've seen her. Last time I was there, she was sorting apparel at the tack shop while shouting, "I don't wanna go through all this stuff!" It was 12 noon and the doors to the shop were wide open. A customer was approaching the shop and I approached as well. The woman said angrily, "No! We're not open yet!" Another very kind volunteer witnessed this behavior and came over quickly, trying to correct the situation by saying, "Hi! Please feel free to browse around, we're open," and the unpleasant lady snapped, "Fine, but we're not open!" I was at another event and s

I found NEER North online several years ago, and was intrigued by their mission, which is set apart from other rescues. I started fostering from them back in 2021, and fell in love with NEER North even more. Fast forward to now, I adopted a horse from them - the adoption process was thorough which I liked, because it means that they truly care about each and every equine and where they end up. Did I mention they follow their horses for life? I have yet to find another rescue that is committed to their horses forever. Now I have the privilege of working with the equines at NEER North, and I couldn't love NEER more. I did a barn tour, I was getting information regarding volunteering and what an amazing rescue they are running. The Horses and donkeys were all very well looked after. The property was clean and well kept. It was ran very efficiently down to the smallest details. You can tell they go the extra few miles to care for there animals and find them amazing homes. They have a tack store on the property and all the proceeds go to the care of the animals. All the volunteers I met that day were very polite and informative. Just from the hour or so I was there you could clearly see all of this. If your looking for horse riding equipment, to rescue a horse this is the place to go or just to sign up and volunteer your time to a great cause. I loved it . Hope to go back soon.

I am a three time adopter from NEER North. Adopting over the course of two-three years. I now have the pleasure of owning Bentley, Smirk and Sammy. Mary Martin and her staff have been nothing but accommodating, kind and understanding of the correct placement for each horse. I’ve had the honor of being a repeat adopter and each horse has been meticulously matched to our specific needs. I know that NEER North will be there for us in the future for our changing needs. NEER is truly a resource for both people in need of assistance and for those who are wanting to adopt a companion or seasoned pleasure horse.
