Christine is the best. Every shelter and rescue in Missouri is filled to capacity. Missouri and Arkansas are the worst 2 states for puppy mills. Don't shop-adopt. Don't give shelters with high euthanize numbers. Give to rescues so ppl like Christine can take more animals.

They clearly don't care about animals there. A stray cat shows up at my home. I called around and no one would take this cat. Except, when I called last week of April after explaining cat was sick. She gave me an appt for Monday. After driving 50 miles the manager rejected cat. SHE MADE IT CLEAR SHE DIDNT CARE IF I EUTHANIZED THE CAT. This girl a week ago made the appt. With me. She acted as though I was lying about appt. Time. She just didn't want the cat after seeing it. I thought this was a rescue. NOT! There are absolutely no resources in this state for abandoned animals at all.

The shelter had such sweet staff who you can tell loves animals very much! I ended up fostering my beautiful cat, Iris, and ended up adopting her 3 days later. This was my first time adopting an animal myself as an adult, and so I loved how the process was easy, simple, and efficient! Iris, herself, is such an amazing cat, and I recommend this place to anyone looking for a forever pet. I will admit, I did get lost trying to get there, but the locals were nice enough to tell me where I went wrong.

We felt they were hesitant to show us the dogs they had.

This place is by far the nicest facility I've seen in years. Their staff is awesome. Every single animal gets love and attention. One was getting a medicated bath for mange, another was being treated for heartworm. The animal control should be done through Needy Paws and NOT the current facility. Those dogs most likely get zero attention. I say that from seeing what conditions they live in.
