My Best Friend Veterinary Center

I recently changed to this vet clinic after 35+ years at another clinic. The vet care and knowledge and compassion has been exemplary. Their hospital staff, receptionists, have been very friendly and knowledgeable. I'm equally impressed for the follow up for communications.

MBF is the best vet in STL!! The facility is always so clean and welcoming. All the reception staff are always friendly and happy to help! Dr. Tim does a fantastic job with my Phoebe. Always super thorough and walks you through the entire appointment. My tech was SO great with Phoebe too, especially when she was shaking like a leaf. We've been bringing our cats here for several years and have always had a good experience with expert care. Dr Tim has been especially great, including when we had to have an eye removal surgery for one of our cats. Samwell, the now one-eyed cat, is doing excellent thanks to the care provided by the My Best Friend team. The cost is reasonable and we've never had any issues. Really appreciate their waiting system as well, so multiple pets aren't all in the lobby at once. The only thing I could suggest for improvement (but not worth knocking a star for) would be support for CareCredit. It's historically been very helpful for taking care of the more pricey bills, but MBF does not accept it as a financing option last I checked.

This was my vet for many years. This review is a result of many negative experiences. I used to have a chihuahua and became friendly with a tech support named Julie, who always smiled and was happy to see us. My dog died and I rescued a severely obese cat. We met with the doctor and developed a plan to reduce her weight. One day I brought the cat in for grooming and the practice manager aggressively berated me for the cat's obesity. I explained the situation, but I felt bullied for rescuing a fat cat! The receptionist Janet looks right through me instead of saying hello. No one seems friendly. I feel we are not on the same team. Time for a different vet!

The entire staff from the receptionists to the technician to the doctor were all so personable and kind. This was our new client appointment to establish care after moving to the area. MBF Vet was recommended to us by a neighbor. We would definitely pass that recommendation along! Love that they are tucked back from the busy road and have a grassy area for our furry friends to potty. Love the check-in process of calling from your car to keep the wait time (if any) as stress-free as possible. Love how clean the exam rooms are. Oh, and love that I was able to text with staff about getting records from our previous vet on the same text thread as the appointment reminder texts. Definitely a 5 STAR experience! 🐶
