I would like to thank Amy and the staff there at MBR for all the wonderful things they do to help these loving pets find a home. I got my Bella (a Border Collie Shepherd mix) on 1/25/14 from Amy when she was on West Ridge Rd. She was only about 2-3 years old at the time when I adopted her. Whoever trained her to let us know that she had to go outside did an AWESOME JOB! She would stand by the door, or bark at us and lead us to the door. She had only messed in the house a handful of times over the 12 years that I had her. I wasn't even mad when she did, only because we weren't home. MBR even called many years later to do a follow up on her. On 1/18/25 I was faced with the painful unexpected decision to have her put down due to and undetectable cancerous spleen. I’m a foster and volunteer with Multiple Breed Rescue, and it’s been such a rewarding experience. The team goes above and beyond for every dog — they’re organized, compassionate, and truly dedicated to each animal’s wellbeing. I’ve seen firsthand how much care goes into every adoption and how supportive they are of fosters and volunteers. The fact that 238 of 239 reviews (at the time of this writing) are 5 star tells you everything you need to know about this amazing organization. Like any group it starts at the top and it’s no different with this rescue. Amy, Sarah and the rest of the team are sympathetic, empathetic and INCREDIBLY knowledgable. We have been fortunate to have been rescued 3 times by dogs they had rescued. We have a Bulldog that was deemed “disposable” by previous owners due to her age (we’ve had her 5 or 6 years) and a couple of Bully breeds that were surrendered as puppies. Amy took the time to meet us, meet our other dogs and in her “animal first” approach guided us to the right dog for our situation which hasn’t always been the dog we originally showed interest in. We were very excited to adopt a dog from this rescue and fully understood the need for a thorough process. We watched the required video, completed the long application, provided references (both of which were contacted), and gave permission for our veterinarian to be called. After all of that, the adoption process became extremely invasive and frustrating. The rescue fixated heavily on the fact that our current dog has only one documented dose of heartworm prevention on record, despite him being only 1.5 years old, healthy, and seen annually by our vet. We were then questioned in detail about heartworm testing schedules, exact medication quantities, and exact timelines. At that point, it felt less like a rescue, trying to place a 9-year-old dog in a loving hom,e and more like an interroga
