I cannot say enough great things about this rescue. It has been over 3 years since we adopted our sweet boy. They really care about the animals and make sure they go to good homes. They are really nice people that want to help not only finding a good fit for the animals but for your family as well. We will 100% be going back in the future to find more family members.

It's been 2 months since I visited MHHS, and they made it a great adoption experience. I went 3 or 4 seperate times over the course of 2 weeks and each time one of the counselors helped me to meet with different cats and get a read on their personality. I left the final time with the sweetest girl, and am all the happier for her. They were very thorough on her medical history, as well as temperament, and while they won't have the history of every pet they have, they try to help you understand what kind of background they come from as much as they can. I can't recommend them enough, and suggest everyone does multiple visits and meets with multiple animals if they can. The sheer sight of the massive pile of empty bottles our office volunteered to sort through them. A reminder of the continuous effort required to support local animal welfare, with every deposit destined for the shelter animals. Empties for animals generates precious extra income for the facility, immediately sparks a deep wish that I could volunteer far more frequently—not only offering direct care to the animals but also helping to alleviate the relentless logistical burden of sorting this towering volume of recycling. I adopted my soul dog from here 6 years ago and he was the BEST boy all the way through even on his final days. I will forever be thankful for MHHS for taking him out of his prior situation and entrusting me to adopt a healing but very loving boy. Every animal here deserves a chance, they can all love, and they ALL WANT to be loved. Adopt don't shop 💙

I have enjoyed dropping off donations to this place! It is clean, bright, and the staff behind the desk are very friendly! Also, when I have "older" Towels, Dishtowels, and Blankets, after I bleach, launder, & soften them---- it is the perfect place to donate!! They REALLY Need them, especially, in the Winter!! They do AMAZING work, for these animals!
