Miresland Kennels

This place has really gone downhill in the last few years. I used their services for nearly 13 years, always had a pleasant experience, but my experiences started taking a turn for the worse around 2022 or thereabouts. Starting around that time, every time I’d return to pick up my pup, he’d display anxiety and basically not be himself for a few days. The first time this happened I chalked it up to first-timer’s nerves, but when it kept happening each time I boarded him I became a bit suspicious. Finally I boarded him last summer (2025), and when I came to pick him up I was told that he bit the owner’s son (who handles most of the chores these days), but the son hid from me in the other room, so I never actually witnessed any bite marks or bandages, or anything else that would indicate a do

Wonderful friendly service. My dogs are a little people shy when it comes to strangers but they were more then willing to work with our pups on their special needs and super understanding! I appreciated the detail they took in ensuring not only that my dogs were well taken care of but also putting me at ease having to leave them! We live in Spokane but would happily drive up to chewelah to use their service again and again! Thank you to my friends that recommended this kennel!

My dog who is almost 2 loves her stays here. I know based on their rules that if I am late I will not be able to pick up my girl. I am ok with that, as my dog is very well cared for while there; and is always way too happy when we pull up.

I took a trip last week and my regular kennel wasn't available so I tried Miresland Kennels. They seemed to do an adequate job taking care of my dog; however, a word of caution regarding their strict adherance to drop-off/pickup times. To be fair, I had been told when I dropped off my dog to call ahead if I was going to be late. Believing I would make it just before closing, I did not call. The fault was mine. When I pulled in at 5:03 pm and knocked several times, no one came to the door. I had told them that I would be there close to closing time. I was quite disappointed that I had to wait until morning to see my dog and was charged for the extra night. Again, my fault but just a heads up for anyone else using their services. There is no flexibility.

No complaints. They always do a fantastic job with our St. Bernard.
