Miller Pets Animal Hospital

Please, please, please do not go to this vet and take your pet anywhere else. I had one of the most traumatic experiences of my life here and lost my best friend. When we originally came here they were listed as an emergency pet hospital. We brought in our chihuahua Max for blood in his vomit, and they told us he had pancreatitis and that they wanted to keep him overnight for treatment. They hooked him up to an IV and had me hold him while they administered a sedative. He struggled but fell asleep in my arms. Little did I know that would be our final moment together. They told us to come back the next morning to check on him and take him home. The next morning we arrived, and the vet was getting out of his car and just arriving to open the clinic. We’ve been taking our 2 dogs here for at least the past 4 years and even after the change of ownership, we still have had nothing but amazing experiences. Everyone is super helpful, responsive and kind. We even temporarily left for a vet closer to home and came right back here because Miller Pets is worth the extra drive for us.

picture of my dogs neck after routine blood work. she is extremely bruised and in pain and this happens every time blood needs to be drawn. they tell me “its normal”. no, this is not normal. it looks like they are poking at her neck until something comes out. i heard her crying in the back room when this was being done and now i know why 24 hours later. this is probably why they refuse to do things in front of owners. save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. will not be returning to this clinic.

Dr. Yarelys Martinez and her staff had seen my dog from the time he was eight years old. Saber loved them and they always treated him so well despite him being a big dog in their small office haha. I used to take him to their now closed clinic on 7th street and 48 Ave. After they closed I still drove all the way to their Miller office because of how much my dog loved them, even the receptionists, they were always wonderful to me and him. They helped me every time my dog had skin issues or any other problems. As my boy Saber got older things became worse and worse for him and at 14, this years in April I made the hardest and most painful decision I have ever had to make. I have mixed feelings about this clinic. Dr. Martinez did a great job on a bladder stone removal surgery and also my dog’s dental cleaning that required anesthesia. Prices are fair and care is good. However, this time we asked to trim our dog’s nails, since he doesn’t like for us to do it at home. Some of his nails are black so it’s recommended to have professionals to trim anyways because we can’t see the quick lines. We got our dog back with one of his paws bleeding and blood got everywhere on the car seat too. Thankfully bleeding stopped in a while, but I checked his paws after a few days and was sad and frustrated to see most of his quicks were cut off, just hanging raw and exposed. It looks like the technician that trimmed and clipped his nails did not have basic understanding or care
