Midtown Animal Hospital

I’ve been to Midtown Animal Hospital several times over the last three years for my two cats—most visits planned in advance, with one or two semi-emergencies—and the staff is consistently warm and seems to like cats. We’ve gotten in and out relatively quickly every time. On one visit, the vet I worked with downplayed my tuxedo cat’s major anxiety (he always pants, cries, and pees himself when he’s out in a carrier), but on my recent visit, the vet prescribed him gabapentin, for which I am extremely grateful.

Love this place for my old pup. They are very responsive and the staff is really nice. Our last appointment, Courtney made some recommendations for mobility aids for my old man and texted me info on how I could order them. I really appreciated the care and attention shown to us. I only wish they treated humans too.

Good: Doctors and VTs were so helpful here! Brought in my very anxious pup and they were very accommodating. Bad: On our second visit there, we were told we did not prepare our dog for his appointment (he is supposed to take meds before a certain vaccine because he reacts badly to it). I informed the office of this on our first visit. At no point was I told that I personally needed to administer medication prior to his appointment to mitigate his reaction. I said this to the person at the front desk and they replied by continuously saying “no” even though I wasn’t asking questions. They just kept interrupting me with “no” (???) I then asked if we get emailed notes after visits in case I failed to read something that told me to prepare my dog with medication before his appointment. They th

This Vet hospital was ok until I noticed each visit I was talking to a different Vet. Then My 2 kitties were potentially exposed to "Cat Parvo" AKA FPV. I thought I had gotten them both all of their shots & called in to verify. The gal that answers the phone would not tell me the status of the cats shots & insisted I needed to make an appointment for them both to talk to the Vet & clarify. $160 dollars later (the cost for them to see the 2 cats) in 5 minutes the vet clarified that they did in fact have their shots for this. It is ASTOUNDING that this could not be communicated over the phone. It's like calling/emailing your doctor & asking when you last had your shots of this or that & your doctor telling you that you must see a specialist for $160. %100 Corporate owned money grab Vet. I took my 17-year-old senior cat to Midtown Animal Hospital the day after Christmas because he had not been eating or drinking for several days and I feared for his life. I am disabled, on a fixed income, and my cat is my only family. I was charged $495. When I later obtained the medical records, I was shocked to find no physical exam notes whatsoever—no exam findings, no palpation, no dental assessment, no SOAP notes. Only lab results. I was charged for services that, based on what I observed when we got home, do not appear to have been performed, including a nail trim I specifically requested.
