I was hesitant to go here because I have also read the reviews. However, our experience here was great. We adopted our sweet boy in March 2025 and it's now February 2026 and he got to experience his first snow. :) He was about 3 months when we got him and we had no issues with illness. He did have tape worms but those are a quick fix with medication and common with strays. He was happy and healthy otherwise and continues to be. I feel for others that had sad experiences but it is possible to have happy one here. The staff was not rude to us at all. They might be more straight to the point but I can't imagine how difficult their job can be. I know I couldn't do it. We were helped quickly and walked through the kennels and took pictures of the dogs we'd like to meet. Their facility is actual

The front desk staff is so rude. You’d think they would at least treat people there to save and adopt a dog and cat with some kindness. Instead you get treated like they wish no one came in to make them do more work. The young girl in the back with black hair was wonderful tho. That’s why it’s two stars and not one. She walked us around and spoke about the animals personalities. But when it came time for us to request a meet and greet with a puppy I had no choice but to talk to the front desk again. Unpleasant experience, so we just decided to leave without adopting because I knew when we did find our new fur babies we would have to speak with them again. And I didn’t have the patience to be treated like that anymore. We were there for both a dog and cat. Gonna try the other shelters.

I have had hell catching three feral cats that keep popping out tons of kittens and the last two times I have managed to catch them, the animal control officer “accidentally “ lets them out of the cage. I was with this guy the first time and he didn’t speak or anything but I showed him how to work the trap, one handle it is easy, and he left. My home cameras revealed it was the same guy. These cats are getting smarter and harder and harder to catch, thanks for nothing Midland animal control.

After seeing this 3 year old Cane for adoption we called. She was on the top part of the list to be put to sleep they said. As she had been there since December 18, 2023. We decided to adopt her. We asked all the questions. How is she with dogs, as we have 3. “Oh she’s great she’s been through our testing.” We go in on 2/3 to pick her up. They bring her out, she is skin and bones. My husband immediately says we are taking her, she’s gonna die here. I agreed. The picture below is the day we got home. Well she’s super dog aggressive. Even after a week she is. Although through a FB post we have training help now. She is very sweet and gentle with people though. I’m not sure how she is with kids and cats as we don’t have any. We were not going to take her back to be starved and killed at the s

We must do something about this place, it is maintained with our tax dollars and they do not care about animals nor do they care about doing their job either. If it is manage by the city there must be someone we can talk to that not just the director of this place because what they are doing needs to stop! This is clearly animal cruelty and neglect. They give sick animals for adoption, they don't feed them properly, don't take care of them and they do not do their job when people call about animals that need to be taken away from their neighborhood This needs a new management, someone that actually cares about it and not just stepping there every now and then to say they did their job
