Meriwether County Animal Shelter

I had a wonderful experience at Meriwether Animal control! The staff was kind and answered all my questions. We went and met Baylor and ended up taking him home with us. We already love him! 🥰 Thanks so much for the wonderful experience!

I called to report some strays that needed attention as I'm not able to take them to the shelter myself. They insisted on my information and was told "If we don't get your information there's nothing we can do for them, so just give me your information." I have NEVER run into this type of callousness before, and I have reported strays in other counties that the county comes to get. She then hung up on me. This ASPCA has done this before when I called regarding a stray kitten. They do not care.

Wonderful experience a few years ago, my home & pets were being viciously attacked by 2, poorly maintained pit bulls, they’d escaped a small pen, their owner had them in, they were mad & hungry, it was a deadly situation I was home alone, the police had to come, animal control came & got them, until their owner could address their conditions.

Clean and very knowledgeable staff. Adam was amazing and knew the personalities of each dog.♥️ Plenty of happy dogs looking for loving homes. We found one little girl to rescue. Meet Tasha, formerly Nala.

I adopted a female dog about 2 months ago that was abused by her previous owner then was left stranded on the side of the road. When i got to the place where they keep the dogs i saw her. Her name was leia, she looked me in the eyes and i knew she was gonna be my best buddy. Till this day she is still my best buddy.
