This is where I've gotten my 3 babies, boarded them a few times, had them groomed, and purchased all of their food and toys for several years before moving away. If you like birds or just animals in general, come visit the Sanctuary and talk to the permanent residents there-the parrots who need the most love after living hard lives before coming here. I stop here every time I'm anywhere near Central California and wish there was a place like it in every state.

This place is AMAZING! I took my cockatoo there when I went to get married and she stayed there for 5 days. When we got her back she was very well behaved and seemed to have enjoyed herself. Now when we go there she starts to dance in the car! She loves it there!

This place has a great selection of birds. However, the birds on what are on the “adoption” list are not accurate. My family and I spent a couple of months visiting an African Grey that we were told was adoptable and we applied for adoption. Then today, we drove an hour to Summerland just to be told no, we can’t adopt the bird because it appears that the owner is more attached to the bird than originally let on. Then they tried to convince us to get a smaller bird instead. Not a place I would recommend if ur serious about adopting a bird.

Exciting collection of exotic birds and local support of owners of same and non-profit projects in a well designed setting ... would be fun if donations permitted a bird netting over it all, as well.😍
