I brought my geriatric chihuahua to Dr.Coisman at MedVet in Manassas for emergency repair of a tibia. I would recommend this practice to anyone who needs escalated pet care. From the front desk all the way through to surgeons, assistants, nurses, customer care. EVERY single person I had contact with was professional, knowledgeable, highly competent, and helpful. My dog was there for two nights and the night staff is just as efficient and competent as everyone else. I was kept well informed all during the process and had wellbeing reports all along the way. My dog is tiny (under 4 pounds) and yet the vet did a beautiful job repairing a tibial spiral fracture, working on what amounts to a chicken wing! Quite extraordinary work. As with all vet care, it wasn’t cheap, but it wasn’t out of

While we have previously had good experiences here, we are currently reeling after a very costly visit ($900+) that nearly killed our senior dog. We went in for simple X-rays and after nearly five hours, we came home with a dog who was incontinent and unable to eat or function for three days, presumably due to being over-sedated. We called and texted to express our concerns and were simply told to return for follow-up, with the caveat that there was a 3-5 hour waiting time. We then went to our usual vet for fluids and follow-up (to the tune of another $400 bill) and thankfully, our little guy is still alive. We will go elsewhere for emergency care in the future, and we encourage you to do the same.

We are so glad we found MedVet after a poor experience at another emergency clinic. Everyone was helpful and compassionate, fees were explained upfront and they stayed within a reasonable estimate. We started in emergency care and were transferred to internal medicine where the doctor took time to listen and really understand what was going on with our boy. He’s still under care and all of our phone calls and emails are answered quickly

My dog, Bowie, cut his chin while outside in the yard somehow and needed stitches. We went to MedVet late Saturday night and they took good care of him. Bowie doesn’t seem affected whatsoever. It was a long wait (about 5 hours total) but more critical cases kept coming in. Staff tried to keep us informed. They have a monitor that tracks your critter’s “process of care” like when people have surgery at the hospital, which was nice. Bowie even had a mugshot. The cost was about what I expected. Emergency care for people and pets is expensive, but I know the range of other ER Vets in the area and think it was on the lower end. All in all, he is recovering well and wasn’t traumatized by the experience. He is on meds to reduce pain and inflammation and the stitches were done well. Dr was very ni

My little pug quickly become very ill and was unable to keep water down and was having trouble defecating. He very quickly was going into shock. I took my little man to MEDVET where the vet and technicians were great. They took care of my guy and started IV fluids took an ultrasound and found a foreign body in his small intestines. They gave me options for emergency surgery but were very honest about let’s see if he can pass it without surgery and if not we can do surgery in the morning. MEDVET docs/techs aided his feeling of being more comfortable with IV fluids/meds. He was able to pass the foreign object. They kept him longer to maintain that his intestines were not as inflamed as before. MEDVET supported his recovery and we took him home. This could have been a tragic story but it was
