McDowell County Animal Shelter

We adopted two fuzzy butts, Maui & Moana (previously Miller & Frida), from here on April 9. Everyone at the shelter was helpful, and they made the process smooth and easy. The cost was $65 per pet. They currently have a full house of dogs and cats, so if you're looking for a companion, I highly recommend adopting first. There are so many great pets for you here, and they would be so grateful to have a forever home.

This shelter is like no other. The staff here are so kind and are very passionate about helping every animal. Every time I visit there are so many loving animals and each one is well cared for. Huge shout out to the staff for working hard and doing everything possible to help the dogs and cats in our community and finding them forever homes. Highly recommend stopping by!

This is an absolutely wonderful shelter who's staff genuinely cares for all the animals that come they're way. We love the snout n about program, it is a big hit with our family. We've adopted 2 animals from them and foster when we can. Couldn't ask for better girls to be taking care of our towns animals.

Best shelter I’ve ever been too. Everything was so clean and neat. Animals were well taken care of. Great job!!
