I brought my Doberman to Dr. Gideon for an ear crop after we agreed on a price for the procedure. I paid expecting not only the surgery but competent, standard aftercare, because with cropped ears the aftercare is what determines whether the dog heals correctly. I do have a PhD myself, and while I am not a veterinarian, I am trained to read evidence, weigh guidance, and recognize when a professional is refusing to stay aligned with accepted standards. The danger here is not just a cosmetic issue. When posting is done wrong or stopped too early, the ears can heal in a distorted position, the cartilage can set incorrectly, and the dog may need additional corrective work later. Dr Gedeon doesn't even take care of the animals on their property, why would you trust them to take care of yours!? Disgusting looking at the horses Dr Gedeon owns yet cannot maintain. FIRE THEM ASAP!!! Hope charges are pressed

We were with Dr. Gideon for around 10 years. She always appeared extremely knowledgeable and up-to-date with current information. However, we recently needed an emergency visit and although I described my dog’s new, rapid-onset symptoms, Dr. Gideon was either extremely optimistic, or unaware of the severity. My dog was a senior, with 2 ongoing issues. she was given a diuretic injection and sent home with 2 new meds. By the time we got home (5 minute drive), my dog was unable to stand. She passed away about 2 hours after leaving Dr. Gideon’s office. I went by the office the following morning to let them know of my dog’s passing; Shannon was very sweet and compassionate. I have been going to Dr. Gideon for 30 years now, ever since she opened her door. I would not take my furry family members anywhere else. She is down to earth, kind, and compassionate. She is always up to date on the latest technologies and equipment. Her staff go above and beyond in giving premier customer service.
