Leslie and Dan are down to earth with MUCH knowledge regarding dogs, particularly Golden Retrievers. I have enjoyed the journey in receiving my newest pup to our pack. I did not receive a transaction, but a new friendship.

We bought our "Max" 12.5 years ago (4 mo's) and he's still doing well, although slowing a bit. I pheasant hunted him in SD last year and he did fine. Eyes are failing as is his hearing - to be expected! Have had five Golden's and he's been the best of the bunch. My nephew referred to him as a "hunting machine"; strong prey drive, excellent at finding live and dead birds. Our farmer friend said Max was the best hunting dog he had ever seen! We got our sweet boy, Bear, from Maple Hills about 3 1/2 years ago so I am a little late on leaving a glowing review but I’ve been so blessed with the world’s greatest dog I feel like I need to share! First of all, Dan and Leslie are such wonderful, knowledgeable and responsible breeders. They genuinely care so much about each puppy, and they ensure that they are healthy and going to a safe and caring homes. Our Bear is the love of our lives! He is so incredibly smart (smarter than most people, honestly), goofy, and loving. From the moment we picked him up, I just knew he was so special. They had already done some training with him and he was pretty much potty trained at 8 weeks. He has such amazing hunting instinct and so much energy and drive. He really his just the most perfect golden.

My first dog from this kennel was great. The second dog (Max) was a disapointment. They told me she was trained and ready to hunt. She will not flush birds. When I followed up, they admitted she " was not good hunting/breeding matrerial, but a good dog". No offer to refund, just "maybe we can work with her". I have a dog that cannot hunt.
