Man and Beast

My boyfriend and I stopped into Man and Beast with our dog for a little treat. We were really excited to check it out, but as soon as we walked in, one of the staff gave us a nasty look. I can only assume it was because my dog wears a prong collar. I understand not everyone agrees with them, but how I choose to train my puppy is my business, and thats where it should end. That said, the rest of the staff was great—friendly, kind to my dog, and helped us find a special treat she loved. It was a little overpriced, but it’s a nice place to spoil her once in a while. Overall, good products and staff, but that first impression left a sour note.

New to the area, and this shop has everything my spoiled dogs and cats could want, high-quality food, treats, toys, beds, etc. Sure, the prices are on the higher side, but they’re comparable to what you’d pay online, and I’d much rather support a local business. The customer service is always 10/10. Every time I stop in, I’m greeted warmly and offered help. Checkout is quick and easy, but fair warning, the toy display by the register makes it hard to resist a last-minute impulse buy (because your baby deserves it). Parking is easy too!

This pet store is amazing. The staff is so friendly and helpful and the amount of products they have is unreal. First time visiting Lake Placid and we will definitely be back and we will always stop in here for a special treat for our beasts.

I always come here for my cat Pumpkin's food. He gets Orijen here because it's actually cheaper here than at Chewy's. At their recent anniversary celebration, they gave me a free small bag of his normal cat food because it was delivered with a hole, which was very nice of them. I also got cat toys, wet food and a tshirt as a gift for donating to the Joshua fund and spending enough money. Unknown to me, I was entered into a raffle with my phone number and won 4 cans of Feline Natural wet cat food, which is pretty high end cat food! My cat, much to my surprise, liked it. He is very picky with wet food so I wasn't sure if he'd like something so fancy. The staff are also always friendly and ask me if I need help every time I visit. My cat and I love this place! 😍

Came here with my boyfriend to get a novelty lake placid collar. Ended up with that and tons of local made healthy snacks. The rabbit jerky is god. Super friendly service
