I visited a couple of the Belgian Malinois puppies last weekend looking for a running mate for my 2-year-old Mal, who came from another local shelter. We also have a small Shih Tzu/Chihuahua mix. I talked to Boni on the phone before taking the 1.5-hr. ride up, and she was wonderfully helpful. After filling out my application, Trevor showed me Luke Skywalker and Ghost. They walked well on the leash, showed no reaction to other dogs walking 20 yards away, and periodically checked in with him as we chatted inside their largest fenced yard. Trevor had a good rapport with the puppies, who maintained good eye contact with him on leash and past thresholds. As each of them ran free, they calmly approached me loose bodied with confidence for a brief pet. Malinois are a notoriously spirited &

Adopted Zeus from MLAR a few years ago. Very easy process and we feel very fortunate to have Zeus as a member of our family. Rescue organizations have many challenges so appreciate all of their efforts on behalf of animals. Everyone at MLAR is very dedicated to the animals.

I totally recommend this place! They have so many cats and dogs! You can look online and check any adoptable pets out, fill out an application online, and go check them out in person that day! We checked out Bella, a little kitten baby girl, (now renamed Wednesday), myself, our 2 and a half year old son and ten month old daughter, and my husband went. She was amazing. So sweet, they were very quick and it was so easy to go see her! The people were so easy to talk to, once we told them we wanted to see a certain animal, it was so fast. The next day, we came back to adopt her, we knew for sure we wanted her, and again, the process was a breeze! Everyone was so kind, they brought her up to us, (although they did ask if we wanted to see her again or just have them bring her up) and we filled o

Went in planning to adopt one cat so our other cat wouldn’t be alone and ended up adopting two brothers both extremely shy and needing a good home. Our house is not so quiet and a little more chaotic; but it feels like a home should . ❤️ We are so grateful for the staff and animal rescue for helping us find our fur babies Jingle (Winston top left) and Kringle (Salem bottom of picture.) we couldn’t imagine a life or home without our boys. 🐾 Update: The boys are officially one year old! With their adoptaversary being in December. These guys brought chaos, laughter and so much joy into our home. From the bottom of our hearts, we’re truly grateful for this animal rescue and all that they do to care, foster and home these animals. ♥️

Probably one of the worse experiences we have ever had with an adoption or rescue. Started off great, filled out the application, was contacted right away. And was excited to adopt a beautiful pup. Then was told we would contacted by the foster parents. Waited and waited and waited no one reached out. Sent another email and was told we were not going to get the dog cause the dog was on meds and we wanted to take her off them. Now remember was never contacted by ANYONE!! I sent another email and received an email back and had to basically argue with these people that were never contracted. Then they released they screwed up and no one ever reached out. Then was told the foster mother would be reaching out by phone. Waited and waited again. And again nothing!!! I get an email stating that th
