A Heartwarming Visit to Long Beach Animal Care Services My husband and I recently revisited the Long Beach Animal Care Services shelter, and I noticed something pretty encouraging this time that there seemed to be fewer stray animals, especially puppies. It made me wonder if it’s a sign that fewer are being abandoned, or better yet, more are finding their forever homes. Either way, it felt like a positive change. Right now, the animals available for adoption include a few rabbits, some cats, and quite a few dogs. The staff and volunteers are truly dedicated. They keep everything clean, take great care of the animals, and clearly want each one to be adopted into a loving home as soon as possible. If you’re curious to see who’s waiting for a family, you can check out their adoption pages.
We picked up this small beautiful gentle dog called Bon Bon from the shelter yesterday! The staff and people there was so kind and helpful during the process of adopting plus the fee for this senior dog was only $25 the price for happiness and saving a dogs life is priceless… we changed his name to Bailey and he has already made us his new home… 🙏❤️🙏
The Long Beach Animal Care Services facility is to hopefully find a new home for the animals that have been lost by their owners, gone stray, or are found running in the city streets. The staff are considerate of these animals in their care; they animals are often stressed by the whole situation. The staff work to help the animals calm down and cope with their captivity. People are invited to view the adoptable animals. Many of the dogs were approachable (many not). Their is a lot of barking with some of the dogs (remember that dogs can be trained not to bark all the time). Actually some adoptive people ask for dogs that bark or even for very aggressive dogs. Me, I prefer a dog that is mellow and happy. I never allow a dog that I have to be aggressive towards people or other dogs. My view
The post would be a 5 star. But after taking the adopted dog, have to the vet, I found out it has Guardia. I think you follow up test after she had it in the Facility would have been warranted. Now I have to go through four hundred dollars worth of tests and medician to treat both of my dogs
Went over there recently interested in adopting, but i got welcomed with a rude girl!! She was talking to me like i was incapable of understanding the words that was coming out of her mouth. I didn't catch her name but she was wearing a hat today with black and yellow split hair. I was very upset with the interaction i had with her that day, but overall the rest of the staff there was great. I’m just very concerned about the girl attitude and the way she talk to customers.
