Where do I begin?? There are no words to describe my experience with Tom, Sam, and their staff. Long story but here it goes! I was not looking for a trainer as I train dogs myself however I train pointers.... well my pro trainer Cory proceeds to tell me that there is such a difference that if I try it myself it would be trial and error.... so we took a trip to a AKC Hunt Test just so I could see what a difference it was... Well my eyes were opened and I knew immediately I would have to send my retriever to school. The team at Lone Star Retrievers is awesome. My 6 month black lab did their basic gun dog course and he came back a very reliable driven dog in the field and an obedient friendly dog at home. The property and facilities are excellent and I very much looked forward to, and enjoyed, my visits down there. The whole team took excellent care of my dog, even giving him expert veterinary care when he was under the weather at one point. Since he has completed the course, we have had many successful hunting trips, made all the more enjoyable by his amazing capabilities. I get nothing but compliments on him wherever we go.

I took my black lab to lone star retriever when she was 10 months old and they kept her a little over three months and did obedience and gun dog training. The people at lone star were very nice and helpful and keeping in touch with her training. I would highly recommend them and would use them again. Great Place!!

We had our pup Comet go to camp for about 2 ish months. He has only been home a week and he’s so good we are so pleased. We bought the collar and have been really trying to maintain commands. Our other dog has even started to pick up on a few things. Highly recommend!
