Living The Dream Rescue

*Picture update 1 year later* 😍🥰I want to personally thank Donna and Denise for facilitating our adoption of Bro. He is such a character and we love him so much. He is everything we were looking for in a cat/kitten. Everything worked out just the way we had hoped. We would also like to thank Loriann for her time, and apologize for any inconvenience that we may have caused, since the pet that we were previously interested in didn't work out. Again, thank you to all involved. We are very happy with our adoption through Living The Dream Pet Rescue.

I am shocked by some of the bad reviews given. Some of you people have unreal expectations & your complaints about the cats you adopted having underlying sickness & spending hundreds of dollars to treat them could have been minimized if you contacted the rescue to let them know because they could have treated most of the stuff I saw posted, in house. I have been working in animal welfare for 14yrs+it's rare I can say a cat rescue is exceptional, but this one is. They are clean, like super clean & it doesn't smell, they are organized & have scheduled appts for fosters to bring in their kittens/cats for vaccinations,deworming, etc. We don't know the back history on every animal we rescue & the only way possible to give an accurate clean bill of health is to do expensive diagnostics on eve

I picked up a mom cat and her four newborn kittens a few miles south of me in March 2024. It was really difficult to find a rescue to help me with them, even though I was willing to foster them temporarily, so I was very excited when Living the Dream replied and said they could help. When filling out the foster paperwork, I noted that I could only foster until July (I would be going out of town for work and vacations). I also emailed Donna to make sure she knew that I could only foster until July. She said that would be fine since they would all get adopted by then. Everything was fine for a few months while I cared for the momma and kittens, and two kittens were adopted. Today, June 29, I was asked to take the mom cat back from PetSmart for a break as she hadn't been adopted yet. I polite

Overall, adopting our new kitty was easy and amazing. However, we were not informed about his underlying chronic diarrhea and nausea/throwups. I am still so happy with out sweet kitty, regardless of his illness. We would have adopted him, regardless. I recommend always asking for full medical history as well as contact to previous foster parent(s), so you can be fully informed before adopting from this shelter. That way, if you have other pets like we do, your other pet is safe. If we would have known sooner, we could have gotten him tested sooner for conditions, rather than thinking it was an “adjustment” issue. We ultimately are still getting our new kitty tested for whatever is causing his illness. Pray we find out what’s causing his GI issues.

I found a stray animal in which needs care but I can't have it inside my small quarters. I called these people who's main objective is to provide care for these animals and I was told to basically do the job that their facility claims to do. I am left let down and disappointed this seems to be the norm anymore with alot of things in this country things need to change.
