Lincoln Park Animal Shelter

I arrived about 8:10 when it says it opens at 8, saw 3 cars parked and they saw me walk to the door and I even called the shelter. No answer. Then 5 mins later a lady gets out of her car to walk inside, noticing I’m waiting at the door. It’s 30 degrees outside I had my 18M old child with me waiting to see potential dogs for adoption. 5 mins later 2 other woman get out of their vehicles. They all saw myself and my children walk to the door and didn’t even say hey give me a minutes and I’ll be with you, no just straight ignored us. Service sucks! Just wanted to see about a potential adoption but for what, more of a headache than heartwarming rescuing a dog.

Most clean animal shelter I have ever been to the staff is very nice and helpful and eager to answer questions the animals are all very well taken care of. Me and my boyfriend went in there “just to look” yesterday and we ended up finding the sweetest girl ever and plan to adopt her next week!

The staff here are super friendly. They are also super helpful. We called interested in a dog they had posted on Facebook. They were able to get us in to meet her that day also set up for a meet and greet with our current dog. The meet and greet well. They had some issues they saw but they allowed us to bring her home that day.

Just adopted omelette! She is a great dog and we had a great experience at the shelter. The staff was very helpful and patient. Went to see omelette several times and brought my dogs to meet her. I think the staff is really working hard to care for the animals.

I'm so incredibly disappointed in this shelter. A Lincoln Park city resident called to get help for an injured stray cat and was told they couldn't help her. The River Rouge Animal Shelter stepped up to the plate and coordinated transporting the poor cat to a vet for evaluation who determined the best thing was the gift of mercy. With this hot weather, imagine this cat suffering and dying SLOWLY in the heat. Lincoln Park Shelter needs to do better by their community and the animals.
