Lancaster Animal Shelter

I’m extremely disappointed with the lack of response regarding abandoned dogs in my area. Dogs are dumped on my street almost every week, and right now there are two visibly starving dogs that you can clearly see the ribs on. I have called many times and my call was only picked up once, and nothing has been done. The dogs are still here suffering. It is heartbreaking and exhausting to witness this over and over again. I cannot financially take in or feed every abandoned animal myself, and I shouldn’t have to feel responsible because the shelter won’t respond. What is the purpose of having an animal shelter if urgent situations like this are ignored? These animals deserve better, and so does the community. Please do better.

Kayla has been amazing to work with! She emailed me first thing this morning to update us on a dog we were interested in and also gave us a call! She was funny, caring, and even worked hard to help us with a potential adoption! I’m excited to work with Lancaster Animal Shelter in hopes to find our next baby!

Not quite sure about the comments on a rude staff , but I think they’re really nice. However the smell is really nauseating. I understand it’s a shelter but the smell is sickening. Atleast air freshners in the front would go a long way

Seriously? Closed Saturday and Sunday? I hope that’s just a typo and you’re not really closed on the weekends when most ppl are looking to adopt pets.

I dropped off a puppy that somebody left Park bathroom and they were very helpful with that. The bad thing is even from the parking lot. As soon as I got to the location the stench was awful and as I got closer to the building and the door it kept getting worse and worse. Barely acceptable inside as to there with the door open until we finish doing the paperwork
