Just a note from Luna, formerly Jolly, to thank everyone for everything they have done for me. I miss you all. You treated me with such love and care. I am fitting in nicely to my new home as you can see from the pics that my new mommy posted for me...you know, no thumbs and stuff. I will keep you posted on my progress....well mommy will.

They knowingly gave me a kitten to adopt that had feline herpes. A worker did mention the cat had a “freckle.” But I did not know what she meant. This has caused additional vet bills, but what is worse, infected a second cat I also obtained from them. No one loves animals more than myself. But I am left with the discouragement of knowing that like so many other businesses, one cannot even adopt an animal without deception being involved.

The staff was very helpful and supportive. I filled out an application on line and they called within 2 hours telling me I was approved. I was greeted warmly and given the information I needed. I was given plenty of time with the animal and the opportunity to ask questions before adopting her. It was a great experience and I would recommend them to anyone.

It has been several years (I believe 5 this August!) since we adopted our sweet boy, Bear, from Lakes Region. I will forever remember the day we adopted him as one of the best days to date- we came to the shelter with no intention of adopting and left with our best friend. Highly recommend this shelter. Rescuing a pet has never been so easy and the staff was so kind and compassionate. We lucked out with such a great pup but the experience, to this day, was wonderful.

LRHS helped make the magic happen at our home this Christmas. This little girl has stolen our hearts. Katy-thank you for answering all of my questions and being so patient with me (first time cat owner). She LOVES to be with her people...and might be part parrot...she loves to sit on our shoulders. Thank you so much!
