Knox-Whitley Animal Shelter

So disappointed in the staff that works for this shelter. A loved neighborhood dog and three of her four puppies were captured and transported to Knox-Whitley on the 20th of May. The animals were caught after lunch, maybe around noon or so. We aren't sure if she was dropped off the day of, or after. Our family waited for her (the mother) to be posted on the stray hold as we had decided to adopt her once she was posted. We called on that Friday (the 23rd) after she hadn't been posted, no answer. We then checked their official Facebook page to see they would be closed on Saturday (for the holiday weekend) so we wouldn't be able to go check and make sure she was brought to KW. It was good I hate that they couldn't take the cats that showed up without an appointment and their only option was to put them to sleep but besides that it was a great place

If I could give 0 I would. They absolutely refuse to take local animals! Eastern Kentucky is over ran with stray animals. And all they care about is out of state rescues. Rude hatful people and completely out of touch with the community

I am so heart broken over this situation. My beagle was not nurtured by someone who lied to me I bought off of and messaged the shelter 3 times emailed once guess what no response. Called them and left voicemail yes wondering if they’d buy the beagle and see if they had a beagle to nurture it. I guess I’ll never know since they don’t respond. Luckily my dad checked out the dog and he will make it. Please respond next time.

My 2 bulldogs are not use to being around people. The staff was excellent with them. They let my dogs take their time to get use to them and the facility. They did a great job on the surgeries. My dogs are home and resting comfortably now.
