Dr. Kayla Hough is not only a competitive APBA tunnel boat racer—she races alongside her father and husband—but she’s also an exceptional veterinarian. She is so good that we transferred our “crazy cat” Oscar’s care to her clinic in Edmonds, even though we live in Ballard. Thanks to Kayla’s exquisite dental skills, Oscar is now sporting a full mouth of pearly white teeth 😺✨ If you have fur babies, we can’t recommend Kestrel Veterinary Clinic highly enough.

Outstanding vet! Took my puppy Blue a couple of time in the past six months and service here is 10 stars. Front desk Dasha I think that’s her name is always so responsive and works with my schedule to get an appointment booked. The vet assistant lady is always professional and explains things well. Please bring your pets here, they will be well taken care of. They even have toys in a room for dogs to play with, my dog loved it. My latest visit, eye drops were given to the pup and it already made a huge difference overnight.

So happy to have found Kestrel vet! Brought my two senior English retrievers who were treated with such love, care, and kindness. We had our first appointment to establish care and they really spent the time getting to know them, their history, and fully checking them out. I’ve never really experienced a vet taking the time other than a Quick Look over and a few short questions before going on our way. Highly recommend Kestrel and happy we found our new vet!

We had a great experience at Kestrel veterinary hospital in Edmonds. This Is the new clinic that looked really good, modern, and clean. I’m happy to have them in the neighborhood! Location was extremely convenient, there was tons of parking, and the parking was right outside of the clinic, which is nice. We needed to take our dachshund in for a check up and teeth cleaning and they did an excellent job. We did need to do a long overdue extraction which was taken care of the next day! The staff were all friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to get back to me on any questions I had. Dr. Hough communicated very well and I couldn’t imagine a better interaction with us humans and our dog. Looking forward to having Kestrel as our new veterinarian in the neighborhood!

It's so nice to be able to take my dogs in and truly know they're getting the best care. And to come home and find this adorable drawing? Couldn't ask for more. Updated 12/3/25: 5 stars then, 5 stars now. I truly have never had a better vet. They know and love my dogs and always follow up with detailed notes on what's going on. As an anxious pet owner, I never have to worry that my animals aren't getting attentive care. I have confidence they're getting what they need, and I sleep better at night because of it. This will be our forever vet for sure!
