This was my first experience with Kent, they came highly recommended through a friend. After my experience, I completely understand why they were recommended. From the moment we brought our dog for a “meet and greet” to ensure our pups would be compatible, I felt instantly at ease. We were greeted in the parking lot and shown to the area where our new forever friend was waiting. The young woman facilitating the interaction was friendly and knowledgeable of dog behavior. She guided us through the process and answered all of our questions. This was such an enjoyable experience and I cannot thank them enough for their warmth, professionalism and wonderful treatment of the animals in their care. 5 stars!

I’m writing this review on behalf of my parents, who have been trying to adopt a dog from Kent. They have lived in Southampton for more than 40 years and even adopted one of their previous dogs from Kent. They are 74 and 85 years old. My father is exceptionally active—he plays tennis several times a week, takes daily walks on the beach or around the neighborhood, and spends plenty of time working in the yard. He has a lifelong history with dogs, including one who became the beloved QuikTrip mascot in the Midwest (“ain’t that right, Lamar”). He is a skilled trainer and has always provided a loving home for his dogs. My mother was a respected physician in the community for over 20 years, who also has always had dogs. Despite this, it appears that Kent has dismissed their adoption applicati

I went to the Kent animal shelter last Tuesday to hopefully re-home my two cats that I could not longer take care of. The woman at the front deck was nice, but then I met Tina. Tina made me feel so safe and secure with my decision leaving my babies there temporarily till they were homed. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable, but she also helped me with some important medical information for my cat at home. Information that the vet didn’t even inform me that would be needed for the long term care if my cat Ozzy, who recently just had his stones removed. She also had gotten me in contact with someone who would help me with food and access to medication if he needed it. I feel great knowing that my other babies are there. The place is clean and beautiful. I would 100% recommend them to an

I called a week ago to see if there were any openings for my two young fosters. I spoke to Tina, not sure of her title but she is in the clinic I believe. Tina was amazing, truly professional and was able to give me an appt for the two cats. She went through the procedure and what to expect in order for Kent to be able to accept them. I felt truly blessed to be able to get two appts. Thank you Tina for your kind expertise and caring manner. Wish all rescues had people like you!!

Apparently seniors are discriminated against seniors. I filed out an application last week for a puppy, called and spoke to Linda who confirmed my application was received and it was the first one. That the puppy would not be able to come home with us because she was in heat and needed to be spayed but that we could go to see her which we did immediately. After spending over an hour with the puppy to make sure she would be comfortable with us. Once my wife went into the office she was told that the application needed to be processed even though we have adopted from there before several years ago, and that dogs live over ten years and that she should probably look for an older dog. Needless to say, they denied our application So it is not about putting the dogs into a loving home. It is
