I have personally adopted 3 dogs from Joyful Rescues. Also my daughter has adopted one as well. They do a thorough job with the application process but for good reasons. I highly recommend this rescue.
We adopted our dog here a couple years ago, and they were great. They were pretty thorough in the application process as others have noted, but we appreciated that. Ruby’s been a fantastic dog and she’s still doing well several years later :)
Bad experience with Joyful Rescues. Anyone knows when you’re adopting a dog it’s an emotional experience. Joyful rescue application is about the length of anybody’s. I spent about a half hour 45 minutes answering all their questions. Including a question that I thought was very inappropriate that said make a sales pitch for this dog Under. Tell us about yourself like make a sales picture about yourself. My bad experience was there’s no communication between Joyful rescue and those that take the time to fill on application with hope they’ll get a dog or at least communicate with someone. No no communication they do not respond to phone calls, texts, and emails. I could not find out why I could not adopt this dog or if I had questions about the dog before I trucked out there if I was able to
They turned down my elderly friend. She has a huge, fenced, Park like yard. Has had dogs all her life. Recently lost her best buddy. She has a broken heart. Hope it wasn't because of her age. No good reason given. Guess they'd rather dogs sit at the rescue than find a good home. They gave a reason. She's going to die. Duh. We're all going to die. They ask a trick question: "if something should happen to you , other than dying, ... " Guess they don't really mean the last part
I adopted the most amazing dog here. He was well taken care of up until the day that I picked him up. They checked on him several times after I brought him home. They truly care about their critters. ❤️
