Joshua Tree No-Kill Shelter

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this no-kill shelter in Joshua Tree. I adopted the most beautiful kitten, formerly known as Naomi and now named Reiki, and the entire experience was thoughtful, ethical, and incredibly caring from start to finish. This shelter is not a breeder, and it truly shows in the amount of care, research, and intention they put into placing each cat in the right home. They are very thorough about who they adopt to—not to make things difficult, but to ensure the best possible match for both the cat and the adopter. It’s clear their priority is lifelong, responsible placements. Fantastic place, please donate and volunteer. Please do not listen to the negative reviews that are based on other things other than what is important, like the care of the animals, clean facility and caring and loving caretakers. People complain about the silliest things this days and try to ruin the reputation of a great place like this. :) Thank you for the hard work and love you give to these beautiful animals.

I adopted my two cats there. They are very well socialized. Sweet and i couldnt imagine my life without them. They came flea free, and are a joy to my life. Thank you folks!

So I put my application in on February 3 for adopting two kittens, jellybean and butterscotch and I’ve waited almost a whole month for Wendy to approve my application. I answered every question that she wanted for me to make her feel comfortable, where the kittens are going and all of a sudden if she had something come up (vacation) the whole entire time she gets back with me for that one day and then tells me that there’s another application that somebody else wants those kittens when I put my application on February 3 and she gave me no communication whatsoever to see if I get approved or not. Now if you want to adopt an animal cat dog, I would suggest Yucca Valley animal rescue they will take you on that day and if you a dog or a cat and they’re neutered that day or within that week, y

This team goes above and beyond for animals and the community, working miracles with limited resources. The facility is spotless and truly disinfected, respecting sensitive noses. They handle challenges with integrity, grit, and heart, celebrating wins and supporting each other on the wild journey of helping animals in dire need.
