Jackson County Animal Services

We recently adopted Thumper (previously Leo) from Jackson County and had a wonderful experience. While the staff didn’t know much about him as he was a stray, they did their very best to help us with all our questions and support us through the decision process. The staff and volunteers were wonderful and we couldn’t be happier with Thumper. Thank you for the incredible work you do. Update: We've now had Thumper for just over 6 months and couldn't be happier. Please be patient with any new adopted pet, it took him about 4.5 months to really settle and show us his true self, which is a loving, gentle, goofball!

This shelter is great! We are loving EJ. We have had our big boy one week now...He is doing great and half way potty trained. Too funny. When we feed him he starts crying. We figured it out he's can't eat and pee at the same time. Out he goes does his business and happily finishes his food. He is such a love. ❤️ 🩷❤️

This Thanksgiving weekend was incredibly stressful for our family — our dog Nala escaped and was missing for three days. On the third day, we saw a post on Facebook from the dog pound saying they had found her. We live in Medford and the pound is in Phoenix, about a 15-minute drive, and Google said they closed at 4 PM. It was already 3:45, so we rushed over thinking we wouldn’t make it in time. We arrived at 4:02 and were relieved to see the staff still there. They welcomed us in with no hesitation and were so kind and willing to help. We gave them Nala’s information, and since she’s tagged and registered, we didn’t have to pay any of the high fees you usually hear about — just the $30 for the overnight stay. I got my two boys Arrow and Dozer from Jackson County animal shelter. It was such a great experience picking them up. They have been such a great addition to my home. I would recommend this shelter to anyone looking for a pet.

I just took home Ricoh, he is an amazing bull mastiff mix. He is full of energy and affection. Kennels can be very stressful environments, however it is clear that the time Ricoh spent at Jackson county animal shelter, he was loved and cared for and nothing about his experience there broke his beautiful spirit. I am forever grateful to the staff for helping me find this amazing new addition to my family.
